This policy explains how cancellations, date changes and refunds are handled for bookings made through VASILICA DA. Two separate sets of charges can apply to any change: (1) the airline’s own cancellation or change penalty under its fare rules, and (2) our service fee for processing the request. Both are disclosed to you in Euros before you confirm any change.
Airlines set their own cancellation and change penalties based on the fare class purchased, and these vary widely by airline, route and fare type. As a general guide:
| Fare type | Typical airline penalty |
|---|---|
| Flexible fare | Little to no penalty; refund to original payment method |
| Standard economy (non-refundable) | €80–€250 change fee plus fare difference; no cash refund |
| Lowest fare bucket (e.g. basic / light fares) | Often no changes or cancellations permitted |
| International long-haul | €120–€350+ change fee plus fare difference, airline-dependent |
The exact penalty for your ticket is confirmed in writing at the time of booking and shown on your fare rules. Basic and other lowest-bucket fares may be entirely non-refundable and non-changeable from the moment of purchase; this is always disclosed before you pay. Because flight bookings are for a service performed on a specific date, they fall outside the general 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law once confirmed.
Per ticket, non-refundable once the cancellation is processed with the airline.
Per ticket, in addition to any airline change fee or fare difference.
Per passenger, subject to airline approval and documentation.
Exact fees depend on the airline, fare type and how far the request is from departure, and are always quoted in Euros before we process your request.
If your flight departs an EU airport (or arrives in the EU on an EU-based airline) and is cancelled, significantly delayed, or you are denied boarding due to overbooking, you may be entitled to fixed compensation and care (meals, accommodation, communication) directly from the operating airline under EU Regulation (EC) 261/2004, in addition to any refund of the fare itself. This compensation is separate from our service fee and is paid by the airline, not by VASILICA DA. We can help you submit a claim to the airline; final assessment and payment rests with the carrier.
If you purchased optional travel protection, cancellations due to covered reasons (such as illness or a covered emergency) may be reimbursable directly through the insurer, separate from the airline and agency refund process described above. Claims are filed directly with the insurance provider under their policy terms.
If an airline cancels your flight or makes a significant schedule change, the airline’s own compensation policy and, where applicable, EU Regulation (EC) 261/2004 apply. This may include a full refund, rebooking on the next available flight, or fixed compensation. We will help you process whichever remedy applies and will waive our service fee for that booking.
